For over 55 years the Port of Moses Lake has connected Central Washington to the world, linking people and products by air, rail, and land, across the globe. Grant County, in which the Port takes center stage, lies in the sunbelt of the state, where a pleasant climate creates opportunities to benefit from hard work and hard play. You will find the Port just a few miles north of Interstate 90, off Highway 17, surrounded by a supportive community and within easy distance of Seattle to the west and Spokane to the east.

PORT Staff
History of the PORT
On November 2nd, 1965, voters overwhelmingly approved the “Grant County Port District #10,” the Port of Moses Lake, to receive a majority of the soon-to-be-decommissioned Larson Air Force Base. Since that day, the Port has found ways to spur growth and activity in the community. In its infancy operations were driven by military activity, Japan Airlines, and Boeing. Today the Port is home to over 60 industries employing over 3,500 people. Much is owed to the founders and specifically the last base commander and first Port of Moses Lake Executive Manager, Col. Clyde Owen.
